Case Study

One of my bosses, Dr. Fuz Rana, appeared recently on a cable access program in Portland, OR. The production value is a little cheesy (the host looks like he's sitting in front of a painted bed sheet), but he has an important message. He is a former evangelical Christian who lost his faith because he couldn't find adequate answers to his penetrating science questions. At first, he gravitated to theistic evolution, but eventually realized that it was inadequate to explain certain issues.

In my opinion, Bernie is the poster boy for why Christian parents must equip themselves and model the importance of studying and gaining sophisticated answers. Simply giving a child or teen a book will not solve this problem. This is a sad case, but I'm hoping it's instructive. He not a stereotypical hostile atheist. He's just a regular guy.
