New Curricula Packages

Many of you are probably familiar with Saxon Math. They have worked out some kind of arrangement with the publishers of Houghton Mifflin and Holt science curricula to offer packages to the homeschool community. They also include some free basic lessons plans to help you execute the program. I thought this information may be of help to some of you.

Houghton Mifflin Science Homeschool (Grades 1-6)
- Purchase through Saxon

- Purchase from Rainbow Resource

- Table of Contents and Sample Chapters

- Lesson Plans from Saxon (free PDF download)

Holt Science and Technology Homeschool (Grades 6-8)
- Purchase through Saxon

- Purchase from Rainbow Resource

- Table of Contents and Sample Chapters

- Lesson Plans from Saxon (free PDF download)

Holt/McDougall Science (Grades 9-12)
- Purchase through Saxon

- Purchase from Rainbow Resource

- Table of Contents and Sample Chapters

- Lesson Plans from Saxon (free PDF download; chemistry only)

Since this is a secular publisher, I would highly recommend using the book, Explore Evolution, as an adjunct to the high school biology text. It addresses the usual concerns about biological evolution.
