Presidential Candidate on Homeschooling

This is not a political blog and I am not endorsing any particular presidential candidate. I am posting this merely for informational purposes.

Republican candidate, Ron Paul, has a statement on his web site about homeschooling that may be of interest to some:

Ron Paul: On the Issues: Homeschooling

My husband tells me that Ron Paul is a perpetual "...and also ran." Is that true?

Is anyone else aware of any other candidate's position on homeschooling?

While it is no a view per say, I have read that the Edwards are homeschooling during the campaign.

It's true that Dr. Paul has been in Congress for 20 years, but did you know that he refuses to participate in the congressional pension plan and he returns part of his budget to the Treasury every year? I know Dr. Paul and I'm the leader of the Ron Paul for Educational Freedom Coalition. Most of the other candidates have voted to expand the government's role in education, but Dr. Paul has consistently voted to remove government influence from schools, ensure the rights of parents to educate their children at their discretion and to return our tax money to us so that we can afford to give our children the best education possible. I can promise that he is NOT the typical politician. I encourage you to learn more about him and his beliefs at my blog http://www.homeschoolblogger.com/ronpaul2008 and join our coalition at http://ronpaul.meetup.com/801

I'm a Kucinich suporter. He hasn't said anythinga bout homeschooling yet, though he does support the Universal Preschool plan which I disagree with. I'm going to have to ask in the forums at his site what his stance on homeschooling is. :D

Gov. Mike Huckabee appointed a Homeschooler to the State Board of Education in AR.

He is very Pro Home-Education.

Rudy Gullaini (sp?) has always been very pro home school. He obviously works well under pressure as shown after 9/11. Granted he has plenty of other skeltons in his closet!
